I was trying to download big files from torrent In my place the electricity is gone off for 2- 3 hours every 24 hour , which will interrupt my torrent download. On windows torrent when I turn on my PC when the electricity comes and it complete the download , On Ubuntu it just give and error and restart the download from the beginning.
I tried more than file all the same. I tried 3 Ubuntu torrent clients they all cant resume the download transmission say that it cant locate the files , qbitroent gives this error. There you have it then: you must first mount that drive and only then open your torrent client. To be sure the drive is mounted you can simply navigate there with your file browser. How to make hdd's mount at startup in ubuntu Faced the same Problem. The solutions given about requires lots of steps and I guess will solve the problem permanently.
A temporary fix that worked for me is to do the following steps. When computer is restarted, the error message appears. Thats it. Well, did any of those hints helped? No none of it seems to work keep getting that disk overload warning. Using 3. No I'm using 3. It appears to only affect the 60g file i started a 15g one and didn't have any issue. Posted October 22, In Advanced set "diskio. But interestingly, I have one download that is So although the download is almost complete, there are no data files stored on disk.
I did a file search on all my drives, and it can't be found. I haven't shut down uTorrent yet, but no I believe that the data must still be in a disk cache. What do you think? BTW, I mentioned I turned off my cache in my previous posts, but perhaps I didn't restart my uTorrent session, it didn't take affect yet. OK, I tried to close down uTorrents, and it looked like it closed down, but I still couldn't find the "completed" file. Then I tried to restart uTorrent again, but I couldn't because it said it was still running yes I did exit uTorrent in the system tray and there were no more icons.
So although I shut down uTorrent, something kept it from actually closing and writing out its files. I did a windows restart all within my VPC , restarted uTorrent, and for good measure, added all the torrents again saying yes that it was already running. So it seems my problem relates to uTorrent actually putting all it's data onto disk. Perhaps shutting off all disk caches will solve my problem and maybe that was why uTorrent didn't shut down previously. Again, I don't want to mess up my download now, so I will continue to experiment after my downloads really complete and I can copy the files to a safe location.
Indeed sounds like the cache isn't writing out to physical disk. When you kill the process the cache is gone. So the question is: Why won't the cache write out to the physical disk. Have you tried downloading to the c drive?
To offer an immediate solution though - I had very similar problems of download cutting out after a while when my driver was incorrect. I was using wireless, and the driver was one I found that I thought to be correct, but turned out it wasnt. I suggest you either try to upgrade your wireless driver, or see if the problem persists when plugging in through Ethernet cable instead of using wireless.
There are a multitude of reasons this could be due to, but start with the above and post back, please. Then we can narrow the issue down. Mike It sounds a lot like your internet keeps disconnecting whenever you are downloading.
When you try downloading the same file does it always stop after the same time the same percentage or is it random? Whenever a disconnect happens while downloading a file the download will stop and without using a download manager like FlashGet www. What happens then is that Google Reader notices a change of your IP and logs you out of the system for security reasons.
Torrent automatically splits files into very small pieces thousends of them. All those pieces can be verified as downloaded or not.
Because of that your download will continue from where it left of without any additional software or interaction. Aibek I second using download manager, this would make sure that your downloads resume when connection is back again. Same applies when using torrent clients. Microsoft SharePoint is a collaboration and file management tool that helps your professional and personal productivity.
Here's what you need to know! This thread has been around for a long time, and thre are different questions and many good suggestions on it already. In my experience, these are the most common causes and solutions: 1.
I would like to say thank you, Oron. I am having the same problem. Any suggestions. I'm not entirely sure where the cause of this problem originates but it must be in a system component common to all internet use.
